Error Codes 56 and 78. anyone know what is it?

Hi,

We got 1UZ, 1997 Engine (without the VVT system)

Currently we got error codes from the engine’s computer:



Code # 56

Code # 78



Needles to that the engine is hardly working .



Please help.

Are you sure its 56 and 78?
Is that with CEL flashing, or a readout?
Is there a chance you have them wrong?

Its just that Toyota codes *generally* remained the same across the years, and those codes don't exist for the 7MGE MA70 Supra.

I'll keep searching.
In the meantime if you find them let me know.

56 is fuel pump problem while 78 is still a mystery.

The reading is correct though.

Engine is 1997 1UZ

Please let me know if you have an idea

I would have thought 78 was the fuel pump control problem. never heard of 56, but 55 is knock sensor

78 is the fuel pump control problem according to the 2JZGTE codes.

56 is still a mystery.
