engine number and year of make.

OK after about 1/2 hr of looking I finally found the engine number and it is at the top front of the block. The engine number has 3 zeros and then four numbers.

How can I check what year it was made?

Take off one of the cam covers plastic spark plug covers and look at he date on the plug wires.

Assuming the wires have never been replaced they will tell you the year the engine was built.

There doesn't seem any other way.

I got 1UZ-0069xxx (so the 69,000th and somethnig engine), and the leads say 1990
Work from there.

mines got 1UZ0044xxx so whats the approx age of this CROWN motor? has had new leads recently.

I also have 1UZ-015xxxx.
I'm not sure if this is a 1990,1991, or 1992 (it had at least one of each year on the leads)
