Anyone in here remove or replace their EGR pipe yet? I was talking to a Lexus Tech few days ago. He stated inorder to remove/replace it. The transmission must come out in bot LS400 and SC400 models. This is true for the first generation Lexus V8. Newer V8 engines doesn't require the removal of the transmission. What a pain isn't it?

You do have to drop the trans. Newer ones don't require trans removal because there is no EGR :happysad:

You don't have to drop the transmission to do it. It's just a real pain.

i spent 20 minutes getting to the bolt that just secures it to the head. NO LUCK. i can barely even fit my hand in there let alone loosen it.

i will try again later.
