Hi all,
I'm new in here so few words about me:
I'm a medical engineer from Helsinki/Finland, mostly I drive with ford
but when we started racing we come to japanese rockets:
We've a W201 mercedes that had little valve problem on our straight six MB engine
(intake valve had a date with piston)
and funny thing, the motor won't run anymore
Now we're fitting J-spec 1uzfe from a 1991 Z30 A/T soarer in it with R154 tranny (fitted with thor-racing conversion kit)
The main question is:
Is there any differences in electrics with J-spec ecu's (40/40/40) compared to the wiring diagrams found from lextreme. This season we're going with standard ECU and when we hit lag of hp we wire up a piggyback or whole new aftermarket ecu later on. This is just cause of the lag of funding for now
Secondly, since it's a conversion from A/T to M/T and it's early model, I believe there's no need to trick the ECU, just pull out the ECT and other A/T wires?
Thirdly, since it's a J-spec there's no EGR on it, but I believe there's one planking plate missing from the intake manifold (on the tranny side of the engine, one the down left corner of the manifold, 2 bolt holes, on the center of these holes about ½" straight hole to the manifold) I don't have a picture right now, but am I right on this one?
Fourthly the soarer has a fuel pump ecu and I believe it changes the rpm of the fp with the signal coming from ECU (sunday cruising -> low rpm, gunning like hell -> high rpm?) Is it possible to get rid of this since there wont be any sunday cruising and we wan't to minimize the options of malfunction.
I'll get back tonight and post a little more pics about the problems.
Thanks!
ps. sorry about the messy language, having a bit hangover since we pulled the engine last night
edit: The ECU has these markings on it:
Toyota 89661-24220
175000-4402 12V
40p,40p,40p
Denso, made in japan
