Hey all,

Ive setup my thermo's to run at between 80 and 85 DegC. Not having actually driven it yet Im not sure if its gonna stay at this temp or not, but one thermo from our twin setup keeps it quite happy between 80 and 85.

question is, is this the correct temp range for a 1uz? Or more correctly, is this the optiumum temp for performance/reliability for a 1uz.

I would like to know the answer to this question too...

I removed the hydro-pump on my 1uz-fe and put in electric fans that run constantly to cool the motor with no thermo stick or block heat sensors...

The operating temp settles on my motor just a little above the quarter mark which is slightly below normal... I think I would like to run my 1uz-fe at normal operating temp too, to avoid premature engine wear....

Factroy thermostat is 82degC.
Coolant should sit no higher than 85degC on cruise.

Thermofans should be set at 95on, 90off.

82 is the temp that cold water is let into the engine. So by rights the coolant should absorb heat out of the motor and come out the top hose hotter than 85.
