rpm's drop when A/C is off, when the A/C isn't on the rpms flow from about 700 down to 400 and repeat back and forth.

When it comes down to 400 rpm's the Check Engine light comes on, otherwise it shuts back off. ODB was checked, shop said it was the MAF sensor.

Purchased another MAF to try, any other suggestions?

Also cleaned out the idle control valve which another mechanic said to check becuase it affects the idle speed when it's on/off.

If idle is hunting, then you most likely have a split in a tube after the MAF.

Check all hoses, all joints. If air can get in, it will hunt.

well on my lunch break, i poped out the maf top sensor, and put it back on thinking maybe the seal wasnt good since the problem is intermittent, and you put it in, press it down, then i decided to make sure it was really snug so i pushed down firmly and wiggled it left and right and it popped down lower than it was, i drove it around and it ran fine, i think maybe the maf top sensor wasnt low enough in the chamber, but time will tell. It did go lower than i had it so im betting it wasnt seated and that was cause the randomness from intermit pressure drops in the swirl chamber

i would also check to see if the ISCV is operating ok... and would also reitterate what peewee suggested......
