Hello people,

I'm sure some of you are aware of the Apexi super ignition timing control (S-ITC)

I'm wondering if anyone has used one on the 1UZ ?
There seems to be a general consensus that Toyota have very conservative ignition maps under 3k, to improve the "smooth" feeling of the engine. But at the sacrifice of creating a bit a torque hole low in the rev range.

I know people have successfully used the unichip, haltech interceptor (xede ecu) to control ignition. They report huge gains in the low and mid range response, largely from roughly 6-8 degrees of additional advance. The problem with these ecu's, is cost, around 1k, plus dyno time, alot of cash for a relatively small gain. Now if you could atleast wake these things up a bit down low, for a much smaller outlay, it might be worthwhile.

My only concern, is there is no load points, just 5 dials, with rpm increments.
