I am about ready to throw in one of my 1UZ's into an 89 4runner, but it is really tight with the IFS. Before I start chopping for the SAS, has anyone been able to fit a UZ motor in with the IFS still attached?

Yes - I have one myself , have a customers one in the shop at the moment and have supplied parts for about 50. Is not so hard. Cheers

Got any picutes of the mounting and how close the exhaust comes to the suspension?

Oh, was it 4x4, or 2x4. I have done it in a 2x4 motorhome, but it seems the 4x4 might have a little more meat around the IFS.

I did one in my '93 4Runner. It's tiiiight! To keep ifs, you have to use the LS400 front sump pan. I had to remove the steering stabilizer and cut the mounting lug off of the tie rod and still only had about 1/4" of clearance between my pan and tierod. I built about an 1 1/4" body lift and really tried about every way possible to avoid a body lift. Also, I used Tundra stock manifolds and had to cut and rotate the flanges to clear the torsion bars and frame rails. Hope this helps.
