well gonna need one, narrow band would use existing sensor, wide would not..

over 3 x the price are wide band...whats the difference?both read afr..

please explain, i guess i will need expensive wide type?

if u have ever seen an autometer wanky air fuel ratio gauge fitted to a
factory narrow band u would understand
basically u accelerate and it reads rich
u back off and it reads lean
thats bout as accurate as they get

a wide band costs around 300 to 500 bucks for somehting good
but is accurate once they warm up
so depends how much accuracy u want and if u want to wase yr money on a narrow band

have u priced up what the top tuners use

autronic and motec proffesional air fuel ratio meters range from 1000 to 2000 dollars

guessed as much..

no i havn't seen "wanky" cheapo ones in use..all my experience has been on lovely dirty diesels where i dont need afr meter just a good egt gauge (and boost gauge)..

so mr sideshow, thanks for that info, i wont then be buying the cheapo but the expensiveo one..
