ACL Bearings

Dear Lextreme Gearhead members,

If you plan to get ACL bearing for your rebuild. Please be inform that ACL made a mistake on the 2uzfe and 3uzfe bearings. The part number listed in their catalog would not work on 2 and 3uzfe main bearing. The 2uzfe and 3uzfe have different tang location and they are not same as the earlier 1uzfe main.


Because the original catalog error (or ACL does not they are different) therefore resellers also make the same mistake by copying or listing ACL bearings. This error only occur in the 2uzfe and 3uzfe, but I am not sure about the VVTi 1uzfe. I have email ACL few times about this error, but no respond to my advice. This is first hand experience we are sharing. So buyers beware...

Note: I guess they just input the note in the catalog as "Suites 1UZFE engines only. Tangs on opposite side for 2UZFE engines" Just make sure you dont get them from ebay or other reseller because they never try them on and they just reseller without any knowledge of this error.

You are ok. You have 1UZ. Looks like your engine is coming along very well. Nice work on the oil injectors.

I put race-series bearings in mine.

Mine is also running very nice with the race series. But of course this is a 1uz, so no problem.

I was the one who let ACL know about the tangs being opposite on the 2UZFE. I have a set of 1UZFE bearings here if anyone needs them.
