well, we cam slow down the shutter even more, but to time the shot, i have to hold it at the max rev and let it come down. I really dont want to hold the car at 6,000 for 3 seconds

Your not going to hurt it. I have held my LS at the limiter (6500 ish) for blocks at a time, you wouldnt be able to hurt or blow it up even if you tried
