I am doing a 1uz swap and I am using a 92 SC400 engine, wire harness and ecu. I have searched all over and I can't find what I'm looking for. I need to know what colors the wires I need to send power to are and what plug they are on. I know there are only a few that need to be hooked up for it to run and I can find how to do it with a ls harness but, Not with a SC harness. Thanks in advance

I'm actually in the process right now I have the complete wiring harness from a sc400 93 layed out across the table, my father and I are starting to go thru it to figure out what we have to have or can do away with. We have 4 complete books on that year Lexus but still are struggling due to the massive overwhelming size of the harness...trying to upload pictures need to downsize pictures

I have no idea how to post pictures on here. My picture arnt detailed just harness sprawled out, a lot of the threads I been reading and what not looks like you can do without a lot of stuff, which was freaking me out trying to have this put together with no codes,(wishful) thinking right

Yeah. Lol I'm not modifying my harness any except for the six wires or what ever you need to send power to to make the engine run. But I can't find what wires those are so my car is at a Holt for now.

It is a myth that it's 6 wires to connect to make it run properly. Yes it doesn't need many wires to connect to make it run but running correctly is quite different. Over the years I have wired hundreds of these engines with most ECU numbers and when I'm finished you connect battery power , ignition switch , fuel pump output and start input to make it run. Thats after Ive added all the necessary relays and fuses. I've also drawn diagrams and written instructions which I sell to make it really easy. I've spent countless hours fixing looms that often auto sparkies have attempted.

This should help

Hi all, I thought I would put together a complete “guide” if you will for a Pre-89 1UZ-FE swapped Supra. This swap is gaining in popularity so I figured if we have a good platform to get wiring information it would help ease the process. First I will list the Supra connectors, then a short description, and pin layout. Then I will list the 1UZ-FE connectors, then a short description, and pin layout. Finally I will give a “guide” to connecting the two to make a running vehicle. This "guide" will be dynamic until otherwise said, so I will be updating this periodically as I gain information.

I used a EWD Book for a 1986.5 Supra (NA Only), and a EWD book for a 1994 SC (300 & 400), and 1997 SC (300 & 400). 1994-1997 SC3/400 from my understanding were transition years in wiring much like our Pre-89 to 89 to Post-89 Supra wiring. So I have started with a 1994 EWD, I just recently picked up a 1997 EWD, and I plan to get a 1996 soon. In my 87 I have a post 1996 (A transition year for the 1UZ) and I noticed a few extra wires on plug IJ1 that needed power but the 1994 book worked just fine.

Since there is so much information I will attempt to post in separate replies, Thanks for looking.

It's been a while since this thread was posted on, but I was wondering if 1UZ fox sorted out his problems. I'm in the same boat. I'm building a trike. The engine/drivetrain and ECU I have is from a 1992 (?) soarer complete with the wiring harness. I have all sensors connected except for the O2 sensors. The O2 sensors on the soarer engine are in the exhaust manifold and have one wire only. I cannot find single pin plugs in the harness to connect to the two sensors. Gloverman has for sale complete instructions but it's a bit of money just for two wires. But it should run without the O2 sensors in any case, and it won't. I don't have any signal from the ECU to pulse the injectors. I have acquired a number of wiring diagrams supposedly for my application, but they don't match. My ECU has Toyota part #89661-24220 and also has a large # 29 on the top. I need a clear pinout diagram. Why is this so impossible to find?
This is an edit. Thanks guys but I think I found what I need in the archives here. I'll have a go at sorting it out in the morning.

Just out of curiosity, GertRoewer, what did you discover? Did you find the two (presumably) wires for the O2 sensors?
On my 1989 1UZ the wires came out of the engine loom at the back in the middle. The left hand wire shared a loom with the oil pressure sensor wire, but the right hand one was a single wire inside a heatproof tube.

Yes All sorted now. These forums have full pinout details for my ECU (40-40-40 plugs). Both the O2 sensor connections are there but the confusing parts was the wires appeared to also be connected to ground which my rational mind told me could not possibly be the case. However closer inspection revealed that the ground connection was the shielding of the O2 wires. Same applied to the knock sensor wires.
