'89 surf 4x4 wiring

The little motor in the back of the transfercase (engages 4x4) on our surf isnt getting power. Anyone know where its ment to come from? where can i find a wiring diagram? Been tryin to find an answer for ages- with no luck. Cheers in advance

best of searching the forums for an aftermarket wiring diagram to get the transfer motor to work
they use 4 or 6 relays
someone on here will come up with the link if yr lucky

the surf has a 2nd ecu it runs the auto and the 4wd
so if u have converted to a 1uz then u need to sort out what to do

if its a factory surf u need to find the auto ecu
or the 4wd ecu if its a manual

auto ecu is right habd kick panel

i think 4wd ecu if its a manual is centre of dash at bottom
not to sure

Its a standard 2.4 diesel manual. Thanks for your help ill check that ecu out

if u want a manual one find a landcruiser or 4 runner of simialr age
it might be ok

if i looked at it i could esily figure it out as ive played with these units many times when doing landcruiser converisons

anyway how are you going to get the motor to work
u will need a special relay and switch to get it to work
or u can use the 6 relay setup someone on here has devised

so 1st decide what u have and which way u want to control it
if u send me motor over i could set it all up for u with the correct 4wd relay and switches

otherwise find someone in yr side of the world that has played with surfs

but if u have nothing
there is no straight forward fix
