7MGE / 7MGTE alternator alternative

Anyone running or had any success at all running a 7MGE / 7MGtE alternator on there 1UZ conversions? If so what were your outcomes, got a mate looking into this....

in a word, why? they are pretty low output- 70-80a, have a four rib pulley, and are not the best.

not much of a 7m motor is any good hahahahahaa
i doubt they would bolt up
im doing some work on a 1hdte motor in afew weeks and the shop has bought
a 270 amp alternator for it heheheheeh

This site sells 140amp alternators if your set on using the UZ unit.

Can't find my photos but the 7M alternator is physically smaller than the UZ unit. Not a direct bolt up but easy enough to fit. For some the gain in space is quite significant.

You can buy rewound versions on ebay for more amps
