3UZ-FE UCF31 Sump Design

Hey All,

Importing myself a 3UZ from japan, i know its form a UCF31 and haven't been able to track down what sump they came with. If any one know id realy appreciate it as im selling off 2 1UZ's and need to know if i have to keep my front sump or if i can just sell em with it if the 3UZ comes with a front sump too.

The 3uz has a front sump design. The 3uz has the same alloy top sump as the early UZ but the lower steel pan is a bit different. The bolt pattern is the same but the oil pickup is a bit deeper and the pan is matched. What you could do is swap pickup tube and lower pan from the early uz and it will work fine.

We had a UCF30 LS430 come into the shop today with a 3UZ and it had a rear sump with a soarer forward style oil filter. I have seen both front and rear designs on the 3uz now. You may want to check what your motor has. Im hopeing to get some photos of the car we have at work it that helps.

I should have added som more reference. The LS430 has a front sump, sc430 has a rear sump and the 2uz (truck apps) are mid sump.
