Just got a set of heads and intakes from a member of this forum. The two cams are very different. They have different gear position and so on. I have not have time to measure the cam specs yet, but I will once i get more time. Check out the pictures. The first few pictures are 2UZFE cams and the last picture is the 1UZFE Cam. They are completely different and NOT interchangeable. The 1uzfe cam gears are in the center of the engine and the 2uzfe cam gears are in the front portion of the engine.

While you have them, degree them real quick & find the lift. See how they set them up to be so different powerband wise.

What's with the cam lobe width? Looks like the base circle is tiny.

I think the narrow base circle area is to reduce the rotating mass and allow the engine to pick up revs quicker. It will lighten the load on the Cam belt and make the engine a few gramms lighter.

I also found out today that the 98+ GS400/LS400 have similar cams as the 2UZFE.
