Hey all,

I don't come here quite enough so I missed a few requests, of which I was sure to have posted awnsers in the past, well anyway, here they are (maybe again)

Question: who knows the exact measurements of a Toyota 1uzfe 4l quad cam engine
Awnser: I do [/arogant mode]

question 2: who has the exact measurements of a renault UN1 transaxle gearbox?
Awnser 2: I do [see above]:veryhappy

ok here it goes! click on the pictures to see a larger version. or visit the complete side for a few car projects (lots of 4age stuf) of mine www.jwkoelewijn.nl/thomas

Hope you all find this usefull, when considering an engine swap!

ps tyre size calculator just told me that I could become a member of the 200mph club, with the new kitcar project! but the 1uz should be able to handle 7800RPM at full speed (ie red-line in highest gear.... oops)

Now THAT's how to take engine measurements!

David, with the author's permission, these need to go in a tech article and get filed where they can be found easily.

I'm assuming the UN1 is a manual box... What are the ratios and final drive?

BTW, it says site not found (bad link?) for the complete site...

Is the UN1 only available in Europe?

Cebby, the UN1 is one of the popular boxes used for mid-engine kitcar setups.

I think here in the US Jeep use it too, although I don't recall for which model.

You can do a Google search on Renault UN1 and it'll come up with all kinds of interesting references.

UN1 Ratio's

First of all the my homepage link works again, I put it on here wrong,

www.jwkoelewijn.nl/thomas

back to topic!

The ratio's of the Renault used UN1 box,

The renault Espace also used to have the UN1 behind the V6 engines however no ratio's are to be found, the are probably not usable because of the low top speed of these mini vans,

The lotus esprit also uses the UN1 box, though slightly revised for the extra power, (ie 4 planetary gears in the diff instead of 2 for the renault un1) the UN5 form the renault master/traffic vans is much stronger but diff;'s start at 5.11 ratio thus are non usable in high speed cars unles you have an engine which does 14000rpm, (grasstracks do use them often with huge power behind them)

Hope you can find something usefull in here,

ps mine's a UN1-04 box, so with some big wheels the top would be enourmous, hence 200mph club:mischievo

ps: I'm of to the olympic games in Torino tommorow so ca't awnser my e-mail in the next month or so.
Ps: If you want to put this in some sort of tech atrtical, it's gonna cost you....:wtf: just kidd'n put it anywhere you see fit!
