im runnig a manual in my 94 celsior 1uz
it is stalling when i press on the clutch to slow down

could this be the idle motor or maybe cause the auto is not there

i cant keep driving it like this

well ive been working on it all afternoon
idle motor is sealed so i cant repair it but it does seem to idle at 1200 cold and
unfortunetly idles at 500 rpm at idle when it warms up
i tricked ecu like evryone used to do to tel it its in park or even tried 2nd and 1st but it still idles low
i dont know what happens with speed signal since im running a manual box
i might need to search for a speed module if they are needed

does anyoen have an idle motor i can buy of them to try
i dont want to go to aftermarket ecu like crigsta did afew posts below this one
as i cant afford 2000 dollars right at this moment

thanks

All stock ECUs can be setup fine with a manual. A low idle is also quite normal. I normally see 625 rpm on the scan tool. The steppers are a little prone to getting sticky but generally free up with a few heat cycles just make sure it is clean inside. What did it idle at before the manual was fitted?

Are there any fault codes?
Have you checked that the ECU is seeing the SPD signal? If the speedo is working it should still be there.
How did you make the ECU park? How did it perform when you did this?

Hey kelvin
I wired this 96 1uz for double dips cressida
Was direct plug in as I had to cut his 7m ecu apart and make an adapter looms
Half way thru conversion he decided to go manual so I told him what wires to join for inhibitor and now he has this issue so I told him to ask on here

I've made sure the nsw wire isn't connected and even told ecu to be in low or 2nd but still it stalls
I then hooked up sp2+ to the spd ecu signal from dash to have both speed signals going to ecu but still stalls
Gone over everything I know over the phone but still it slalls
Cold start is at 1200 revs then drops to 500 or 520 rpm which is bit low
Do u think I should get him to change idle motor
Apart from this stalling problem it goes pretty good
Pm me if u want
I hardly do any 1uzs these days so maybe I'm getting abit rusty hehe
Doing more new vehicle diagnostic and key coding
Thanks

ok thanks
I've tried most things I can remember
but it's hard when car isn't in front of you
and I've sent my scanner to a job in Sydney
