Hi all, newby here.
I am investigating installing a 1UZ into my 1977 Daimler Coupe. According to the archives something similar has been done and I need some more information. My first problem appears to be sump clearance. I'm fairly sure I'll need a rear sump engine (Soarer?) Can someone tell me what the distance is between the rear of the engine to the front of the sump on a rear sump engine? FWIW I am using a Toyota 5-speed box.
What other "getting it to fit" problems are ahead for me?

The Link ECU appears to be the way to go. Comments for/against?
TIA

Thanks Rod.

It looks like I have a bit of a "challenge" on my hands then because I have only 260mm to play with.
Is "Blackcat" still on this forum? I'd be interested to know which engine you used and how you made it fit.

Coupe,

Send Blackcat a PM.

Go to Members List (it;'s in the box at the top of this page. Clicl on the approriate letter of the alphabet and follow your nose.

Sorry if you already knew this is how it was done.

jag coupe uz

Hi,

Id be very interested in your jag coupe conversion as i have 1 two & was considering a swap using a uz & th700.A coupe is basically a short wheelbase XJ jag like a series 1 and early series 11 so basically the same swap as those, which others have detailed on this site.I was iniatially looking at a chev ls1 but the uz's are just so cheap & have a level of sophistication that would suit a jag conversion where the aim was to produce a quiet smooth drivetrain.

Does anyone know of uz conversions to 72 mercedes coupes (114) or 76 350 se's as have friends looking at this option.

cheers
