Right so iv had a bit of a read around the place to try establish what exactly i need. Just wanting to have a clear list so i know from the get go.
Have a KZN130 Surf and wanting to put a 1UZ into running factory computer.

Front Sump 1UZ complete with Auto trans & loom, ecu etc
Glovermans Engine mounts
Glovermans loom
Electric fan setup on factory radiator
LN130 Driveshafts
Adaptor plate to run Lexus gearbox with Surf 4x4 transfer case
Custom exhaust

The other things i "think" ill have issues with by the sounds but not 100% sure on are:
Handbrake (Do i need to do a conversion of some sort)
Headers - Will the factory headers fit with the mounts or will i need to get some aftermarket/custom ones.

Is there anything else that i havent thought of that id need to acquire or modify to make it fit/work etc.

Direction much appreciated.
Cheers

Fuel pump - I do an intake DIY kit. Check weather your handbrake has the internal or external roller. Front sump headers dont fit without some changes. You may not need an "adaptor" as such for the transfer depending on which box you have but may need a few mods in there. Cheers

Have a read of this (Instructions if you will)

http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22262 (you should find a link of how to fit the transferbox onto the 1UZ auto either in that thread or Russells build thread)

Make your engine mounts to suit to keep the driveline angles the same and increase the sump capacity (it aids cooling and helps off road).

Handbrake V6 Surf lever and front cable along with the instrument cluster from one, fuel tank from said V6 Surf with submerged pump does help but you can get away without this using a Bosch044 mounted as close to the tank as possible. The LN130 Auto gearbox crossmember and shifter linkage will also be required.

Wiring. Carefully remove the 4wd wiring from the 1KZ engine loom (inc the plugs where it plugs into the body harness, this includes the Surfs speedo wiring) When you remove traction control wiring from the 1UZ loom remove it's speedo wiring and tape the remaining Surf wiring into the UZ loom. This is best done after you've put the transfer onto the back of the UZ auto and set the whole lot up on the ground before you put it in. Now some of this of course is going to depend on what your UZ came out of but isn't hard to get around. As for the rest of the wiring it's a matter of matching pinouts, wire up the fuel pump and sub O2s (yes they do need them) Turn the key and enjoy

What model is preferred in terms of bolting up transfer case??

And with lexus box the LN130 gearbox xmember will bolt up you say?

Can run the diesel tank with the intake kit you have gloverman?

Cheers for the help guys, will read that thread as well.

Yes my intake fuel pump fits into the diesel tank. The last KZN130 we worked on the transfer bolted up to the lexus box and this is the case most of the time. Cheers

Thanks for the info guys,

Is the v6 petrol gauge cluster a must??

Gloverman ill be in touch about some prices for all the bits i need.
Cheers

I use the V6 cluster for a few reasons. One it's a bit easier to get (Trademe for you), Two it has the 180kph speedo (very useful in a UZ powered Surf esp What was a KZN130 with 4.1 diffs), Three it looks a whole lot better in there with the V8 and you don't need a "box" to make the tacho work, you just use the trim pot inside to slow it down a bit and lastly you get the factory engine check lamp. It's one of the "Finishing touches" if you will and if you do the conversion right will help you make the whole thing look like "Toyota made it this way"

Hello all, I am trying to convert my 2.4 TD Toyota Surf to a 1UZ-FE. Is there anyone here in Adelaide South Australia that could help me out both in theory and hands on? I have already started with paperwork in to Regency Park and I already have the Surf and a Lexus IS 400.
