Hi all, I'm about to start a 1uz conversion on my LandRover D90, using the complete engine and 'box from a 1995 Ls400.
So far I have a complete Ls400, a transfer case from a Surf (around '93 vintage) and collecting some Y61 axles very soon with diff. ratios of 4.66:1.
Now by my calculations, with my 36" tyres I'd be geared for around 89mph in 2nd alone (48 in 1st) all at 6000revs :eek: which is a little tall. I didn't realise the Hilux transfer case had a 1:1 ratio in high range. Any suggestions on the best way to reduce my gearing? I'd want to be dropping by about 40% i think? Don't know if i can get lower ratio ring and pinions for the y61's but would sooner alter the transfer gears if I could do it within the case itself?
