This was my grandmother's car. It has a 3.8 liter inline 6 with a 2 speed powerglyde. The 4 speed auto would have to be better than a 2 speed auto but I would rather have a manual. I have read that pretty much everyone uses a w or r series with a custom bellhousing. Would it be possible to use something else as long as the input shaft fit and get a bellhousing made?
I want something 6 speed so i can have 5th be 1:1 instead of 4th being 1:1 like in the w and r series. I figure I could just run the stock ecu with the auto for a while before I worry about spending money on a manual swap. I love the sound of a low displacment v8. I'd love to have one in that chevy ii.
