1995 SC400 Oil pump Help Needed

I have been trying to source an oil pump for my 95 SC400.... on the Lexus website it says that oil pump p/n 15100-50040 will not work, and that I need oil pump p/n 15100-50022. Visually they look identical and I can't find 15100-50022 except for a sketchy post on ebay. Just trying to find out which pumps will work and what i need to buy.

Bugger. Does it say why the later oil pump wont work on the early engine? As I have been fitting the later pumps without issues to many of my early engine rebuilds.

No it doesn't say why. But if you have been using the later ones on early engines I'm sure it's fine, probably just a bug in their website.
