Well as every story has a beginning. So does this one.
I have always had a soft spot for Z cars. When I turned 19 I was working at a local auto parts store making barely better than minimum wage. but I still lived at home with the parents. So I decided why not go out and buy an expensive sports car? Well I searched for months and months and couldn't find any good deals on a Z car. I finally found a 2005 350z for a really good deal. Long story short I started to do research and found that Z cars had been around since the 70'z. I found the S30 to be much more attractive than any other model of Z. It was the first of its kind. Who wouldn't want that?
A few years later after toying with the 350z. A once in a life time opportunity found me. A buddy of mine asked me to go look at a 240 with him. I assumed it was a 240sx simply because that's the sort of crowd I run around with. When we get to the location of the car. I was awe struck by a 1972 240z covered in dust. My friends intention was to daily drive the S30. So first thing first was to see if it would start. according to the owner, it never failed to fire up. Except this time. My buddy ended up telling the guy he didnt want it if it wouldn't start. I of course asked him how much he wanted for it. The guy told me 500!!! I looked over it all again. I only had 400 to my name. I told him that's all I had but I really wanted it. He told me that he needed to move the car soon because the landlord wouldnt let him have so many vehicles. (he was already at 6 cars on his land.) So I picked up the little 1972 240z for 400 even.
I immediately got to work on getting the car running. It was all too difficult it just needed an ignition switch and carb cleaning.
I then quickly grew bored of the lack of power the little 2.4 straight six had.
I was on the hunt for more power.
I found a ready to run 1UZ for 400 in a local city, with wiring harness and swap mounts for a mk3 supra.
I did some research and found that there was an adaptation kit to mate a 1uz and 350z six speed.
I also picked up this gym from a friend who works at the nissan dealership in town.
With the MK3 supra swap mounts the 1uz BOLTS IN.
transmission adaptor plate.
test fit with motor and trans.
ACT stage 3
More to come soon.
P.S. Thank you all for your info. without this site I couldnt have done any of this. Oh yeah I searched!
