    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

Been doing a lot stuff but not a much on the car, getting some stuff sent over from Japan. No, I'm not likely to buy another and they have been coming up on the auctions. I do have 2 x MA61 and I do have 2 x 1GZ and I do have 2 x T56 but I ain't gunna have 2 x GZA61's (hmmm, it would be easy the...

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

Yes I'm still alive, project is moving along a bit more. Manifolds being built for stock throttles ATM, when they are complete I'll put up pics. Opened up the spare engine looking to see how hard to do itb's for after the car is road legal.

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

I was going to make up plenums for the lower intake runners but am now looking at maintaining the complete lower manifolds with the ACIS and make up new upper manifolds that will bolt on and locate the TBs low down so I can shut the hood. Starting the headers soon, 1.5" x 15" long primaries...

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

Here is some engine bay pics with motor located, little altering to do of swaybar mounts to get sump clearance. Not a bad bit of space for headers.

    5.7L Iforce swap

I'm putting the 1GZ-fe into a MA61 because it just simply shouldn't be in there, I actually think it is a novelty, amusing even and a way to promote the brand. There is any number of ways to get performance that will blitz what I'll have - not interested. A couple of times I have thought...

    1GZ-FE Vs. 3UR-FE

Yeah, I suppose, it would be a bit like a twin engine Cessna, you can here both engines. A lot of the exotics have "stereo" exhausts, with the V form engine may produce a 2 engine sound. For practical reasons mine will be one tail pipe , we will see (or hear) (so long as it doesn't sound like...

    1GZ-FE Vs. 3UR-FE

On the basis of exotic I'd have to say 12 cylinders. It will probably remain so as more manufacturers move to 8 & 10 cylinders for their top end cars. Rarity of 1GZ helps, built in small numbers, (wonder when they will stop?) Lets not forget the sound, to some, 12s (or 10s) would be awful, I...

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

The Yen has gone up a little and the AU$ has gone down a lot, our import specialists have been hit hard by the drop in business, in fact the import service I used for both engines has closed down and will consider returning if things improve. This engine was stripped bare but does have a loom...

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

Got my spare engine before the exchange rate messed up the cost of buying these things. Cut some big holes to allow engine to go back as far as possible but there will still be some clearance problems with the swaybar, so the mounts for that will have to be altered. And a gearbox...

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

Had a look at stock ecus, different part numbers and one has more pins, no surprise, you would expect one to have a module to co ordinate both sides of the engine.

Wanted WTB "Drive by wire throttle"

Thanks for the info sideshow, it would be better to run all after market control, the road authorities don't allow it but I may have to cheat a bit. The car has to go through a tough engineering test. Maybe the good thing is they will have never seen one of these engines!

Wanted WTB "Drive by wire throttle"

I am after an accelerator foot pedal / electronic sender unit? for a "Drive by wire" throttle system, this is to be used on a 1GZ V12, ATM I presume other versions will be adaptable. I have to do more checking but I thought I would see what's out there.

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

ANDY R, I presume you have an engine? If you do, is it a secret what you are going to do with it? Just between you and me I have a second engine arriving any day now! It was called a "core engine for parts" so I expect it has some internal failure? This next engine will be stripped down for a...

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

Thanks ANDY R, that could be great, I got a stack of wiring looms but no electronic throttle sender unit, hopefully another Toyota fly by wire accelerator will be the same. If I know the colour code of the pedal wires I could probably find the plug. This box is full of ecus, afms, fuse boxs...

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

Norbies gearing calculator indicates 1580rpm @ 62mph (100km/hr) This should be good, anyway "G" 3.9 & 4.1 are easy to find. Finally making some headway with the adaptor plate, fitted dowels for gearbox and if the engine dowels work out as good as these have, I'll be most satisfied (and amazed)

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

Yes, does look better in the bay and not so gigantic. If the a/c evap was removed and firewall dented in, the engine could go back more, but using a large bell, that creates more problems. I have relocated all pipes and beat the tunnel for extra clearance, any more space needed will take...

Thought I'd throw a few more pics Have a look at this oil filter compared to a UZ, I understand it's the same as Landcuiser.
