    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

A few steps forward, the radiator and fans are just sitting in place and now 1/2" clear of the engine. The sway bar mounts points have been moved down and forward giving good clearance, when the suspension is fully compressed I get my 1/2" clear there too. Gees, didn't realize both pics are...

I would have liked vertical stacks too, but I also wish to keep the hood stock. You may have seen this pic in my build thread, I can put up some measurements if you want.

Mitch, you are welcome on the pics, I hope my posts are not viewed as a hijack. A guy in New Zealand has started a 1GZ into early Celica, fortunately a front sumped car. His plan is stock intakes, twin turbo, stock hood, the first move was to cut the firewall and push the engine into the cabin...

Mitch, my son has a UZZ32 Soarer, I bought a second 1GZ that has a BHG and was stripped of all but the intake manifolds, it was a cheap way to have heads, cams, crank, block on hand spares. I pondered building it up for the Soarer and spoke with a mechanic in Sydney that is doing a GZ swap for...

With your new sump pan you will need an external belt driven oil pump, the stock pump is submerged in the front of the pan and chain driven off the crank. Why are ITB's out of the question, what about horizontal? that's my aim, operated by the DBW servos. These intakes cut the manifold...

I just measured from the top of manifolds to the alloy drain pan, approx 650mm, (add another 100mm for steel sump pan). When you dry sump it the 650mm may be reduced a little (20mm?) Sounds like you can handle the DBW, I got one of these; Micro sw on the top as idle pos, sw on bottom for...

What will you be doing for air filtering?

    BMW V12 Project

I like the look of the BMW, a bit Rolls Royce Merlin. Funny, I was just looking at TWM stuff two nights ago.

Mmmm, nice, what throttles? I've been offered 12 4AG but I like the Weber twin throat style and having less linkages to deal with.

Itb's A few pics to get the mind going, note that there will not be much space above so vertical trumpets are unlikely :(

Itb's Tell me cribbj, or anyone, is the ideal for Itb's to have; (1) Throttle disc closest to the inlet port, i.e small volume runner? (2) Long, tapered runner from trumpet to throttle disc? (3) Inlet runners in a straight line to the port?

Correct, whittled away using a steel template (so if I slipped it wouldn't cut across the face) The 1/8" hole between the ports was to orientate the template on the other side. The headers are back, in black :) The adaptor plate has arrived just as I found a place that makes an alloy...

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

Loz_King, we are almost neighbours, I'm about 90 min further east. Should have my adaptor plate for the gbox tomorrow :) I'm pleased with the adaptor to rotate the oil filter assembly 20 deg.

    Some Basic GZ-FE Swap/Install Questions

I didn't say you don't have rules there, what I meant is exactly what you just wrote, "adhere to the rules and you can pretty much build what - ever you want". No in Aus, you are not allowed to put a V12 jag in a mini or make it RWD and get normal road registration. Just as I can't turbo or...

    Some Basic GZ-FE Swap/Install Questions

If you guys are interested there is a New Zealander has started a 1GZ twin turbo into a little old celica, pushing it about 5" into the cabin!!! Fortunately in NZ there seems to be little restrictions to do anything, in Aus there is lots of rules, not the least being anti pollution requirements.

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

The new crossmember is a stock one, the one I cut for the V8 had more removed from it than needed for the V12. Just had to make a dent each side for it to follow around the sump perfectly.

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

The headers are mild steel, smooth pre bent, Mig welded and on the way to be black ceramic coated. Started on an adaptor block to remount the oil filter on an angle to clear the engine crossmember. Originally I expected to remote mount the filter but I see this as a better result, the flow...

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

I will be cutting 2 honeycomb grills to make a full width in place of fog lights, I really like the look. With the low profile popups, when they are fully closed they are just entering that space between the "new" grille and air box intake :)

    MA61 with 1GZ-Fe swap

gte, I don't think you will want me to make you some, I take way too long, welding is less than average and now I'm testing them to fix welds and all the pin holes I found :( To fit them in the car I need to slack off engine mounts and prise motor over 1/2" to drop in from the top, in fact...

    Some Basic GZ-FE Swap/Install Questions

Very short on hood space so unlikely to go vertical however there is a manufacturer in my state (EFI Hardware) that make a throttle plate, usually pairs, 1/2" thick for tight spots. They could make me 4 sets being 3 per shaft. Because changes in temp will effect the length of the shaft they...
