http://www.lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15526 this is what I'm up to mines a 95 . The rear sump is the better fit but I still had to make it fit and the engine mounts are my next hurdle . The header pipes have lined up perfect , they do come close the steering rod . I'm using the 1uz ...
There could be a stuck valve which might explain the odd firing . The plastic covers give good access to the timing belt so hopefully you can remove these and make sure all the timing marks line up. I haven't done the belt on these yet .
Gloverman will give you a lot more info mate . What auto have you got in there now . If your running the Lexus motor and box you won't need the jeep ECU . I reckon you would find it easier to install a standard throttle cable.

If you go to this thread there's pics etc on there , I'm doing a Pajero but I have had the same hassles as you may have also are you using your auto , you may find its the Aisin type that Lexus use that is used by Toyota Mitsi Isuzu etc
Ha ha that's my pics of what I did . The rear sump wasn't quite rear enough so I made up the plate and bolted the sump to it and also off set as well . Doing this meant I needed the longer oil pick up I made earlier when I tried the same thing using a mid sump . The main thing I did to get...
I used the the upper sump (alloy) part bolted to the bell housing to check for clearances . That way you don't have play around with the whole engine. Yes rear sumps are hard to find , I found one on here and swapped my front which was very fortunate .
Motor is pretty much in place now I'll work out mounts , thanks to Gloverman I can source a short oil filter that will do the job nicely . I'm very happy about the stock headers , they seem to be just right .....shouldn't bo too difficult to fabricate an exhaust system . I'm thinking of two...
Got the motor in , just a little tweaking to get her in to final position and sus out mounts . The exhaust is actually looking like its made for the job , there's a few tight areas but I'm confident that once its in the right place things wil work out.
Thanks to Kobi ,I have a rear sump , I've made an adaptor plate to avoid the front diff ,dipstick still works , needed to use my slightly extended oil pick up but all good , hopefully trial the motor in position soon
I can't get onthe pokuk site right now . Too any people I suspect. The only concern I have with using the Pajero box with the lexus parts will be the ECU . The Pajero uses a seperate one for engine and a TCU for the auto box so should be able to work things out . Your project you will need to...
You can use your L200 gearbox and swap out the Lexus bell housing , torque convertor, input shaft and pump .The 4WD while the same as the Lexus has a stronger case. If you do use the Lexus box completely, electrically things are a lot easier. Also the rear sump 1UZ may be the better option . I...
