Just noticed you have a sound system that would benefit from a larger battery as well , also is it completely off (including amp) when ignition is off?

The PC680 cold cranking amps is only 170 , the Lexus needs 600CCA , or the PC1220 if using the Odyssey , I think you've been given the wrong battery. They have mis-interpreted the CCA .Just looking at the ong youve used its looks smaller because it just a small battery! But not up to the job

Yeah ,but everyone who turbos does one or two ............but four that offers some challenges. Reliability would concern me too, anyway still in the dreaming phase right now .

I'm doing the same here in New Zealand . It's not a popular conversion here although the 1UZ is a choice for many people in other projects.

Yeah it's early days yet , have only done a couple of test drives , I think there's still a bit of air in the system . I'll see how it goes and maybe upgrade it later. Thanks mate for the info.

Here's a question , is the Lexus power steering pump good enough for the heavy weight of a 4WD , the Lexus pump usually operates a rack and pinion but I'm using a big clunky steering box . I'm thinking of getting the matching Mitsi pump and installing it in place of the 1UZ one , or am I wasting...

Another test , power steering pump is abit noisey. Same with fuel pump. Idle is good ,as is oil pressure , water temp to (found dash and triple gauge water temp earth wasn't the best all good now )http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7jwKu06Cxso

Well finally drove the Pajero today , down the drive way and back , she changed gear .......woohoo . Few issues the fuel pump is pretty loud so may look at mounting this in the tank . Worst issue is the power steering hose blew off , need to get a one piece pipe instead of two joined together! (...

I think the surf box is pretty much the same as the Lexus , but I think you'll need the Lexus input shaft , pump and torque converter as well as the bell housing . Swapping these parts will allow the motor to bolt up to the surf box. Also controlling the surf box , you may need to investigate.

I think thats the "kickdown" cable which needs to be connected to the throttle body , . Also these gearboxes need that cable to "tell" the auto what torque is needed depending on position of the throttle.

About 5mm . If it plays up I'll look at getting a sender that matches the probe

Good old google has found me more info. The 1JZ-GTE came with parallel turbos and the R154 gearbox. We get the engines, gearbox etc here in NZ for a good price so still thinking ..............
