Getting started on my Ra65 swap

Well I towed the car last week end and spent a lot of time on it this week. Progress are slow but steady. I'm almost done with component relocation and hooking all of the hose/vaccum to the car. I still need to buy/figure -Front (rear Camaro) sway bar (I have not been able to find one in any...

Hooking radiator hose on a 1UZ and using pusher fans

Thanks cribbj. I was wondering which port was the inlet and which one was the outlet for the heater core. Form the answers I've got on other forums that gives me enough theory and thought to make my own testing and conclusions. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Hooking radiator hose on a 1UZ and using pusher fans

Thanks for your answer. However since it's pressurised by the water pump and that the water is forced to go in the rad. The cold water should not be able to go down as the hot water is pushed upward (they should be forced to mix at one point). I'm not saying that you are wrong, but by looking...

Hooking radiator hose on a 1UZ and using pusher fans

I wonder why I post here. Every time I ask something I get no reply. I guess I will continue to use the search feature and don't bother asking my own questions.

Hooking radiator hose on a 1UZ and using pusher fans

1- Well I'm doing a swap and when I started to look at how I would hook up the rad and the water inlet outlet I became to wonder. Does it matter if the inlet pick-up water from the top rad port and the outlet (return) goes in the lower rad port. I know many engine are seted that way and work...

Getting started on my Ra65 swap

I finaly bolted that sucker to the custom made engine mount. Doing them was a pain since I could not weld in the warehouse (insurance). Engine is centered and only a 1/4inch away from the crossmember and steering rack. I need to customise the power steering plumbing to get more space. So far...

Getting started on my Ra65 swap

Tranny is the factory W58 I only have a hp goal of 250-300whp (probably gonna keep it N/A). If I blow it I have a spare and if this one goes out too I'll make an hybrid (shorter input shaft) out of my father's "spare" R154. I know it would have been best to start with the R154 straight away, but...

Getting started on my Ra65 swap

Also I removed the A/C compressor by finding the apropriate belt lenght (Dayco 5060635 for anyone interested). However you won't be able to use the clutch fan since there isn't enough strap lenght touching the pulley. I could not use the fan anyway due to the lenght of the RA65 chassis.

Getting started on my Ra65 swap

I'm recycling this tread since I got enough work done to worth it. I still need to sort all kind of stuff, but I'm amazed how well the engine fit. Form my Experience with the LS400 chassis I even think there's more room to play around the engine. It's tight on that pic, but by removing the...

info request; doing my homework on mkii swap

No no. It's one or the other HEre are some pics of where it sit's without doing any modification to the MA6X Chassis. I'm hoping to do better, but there's no miracle. You either have to make the driveshaft longer or make the engine go back. Getting a custom bellhousing like A1 turbo...

-Flywheel bolt pattern: http://www.v-eight.com/tech_forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1110&p=9115&hilit=flywheel+cad#p9115 Although I would not suggest anyone to do their own flywheel without a lot of R & D done to it. You don't want this thing to blow anywhere near you. I measured the flywheel I've...

For the guys using Howe TO Bearing!!

Sorry if it as arleady been posted, but couldn't get anything out of the search button. I've got a question for the guy using Howe trow out bearing. Mine is pn.82870. I made my own adapter using the 1UZ bell. My questions are mostly concerning oil feeding and bleeding and proper instalation...

    Favorite CAM software

I've used NXcam and Catia V5R18 for a while. NX is a lot more user friendly and is pretty much straight forward. It's better for 2.5D When you start having more axxis, Catia V5 works really well , but be ready to spend a lot (or do like everyone and run a cracked copy). If you do G code manualy...

    Technical Drawings and More

Well for myself I have the 2006 version of solidwork and an old r15 version of Catia V5. I'd say save your model in step or IGES format so any CAD program can open the model.

    Engine Harness cleaning

Thanks for the reply. I know I have some homework to do, but for me the hardes part is to know how many informations the ECU needs to work properly. My father is a retired electiral engineer. If something goes bad I can always get some help. Then again my problem isn't to wire or to understand...

    Engine Harness cleaning

Ok here’s the deal. I’m currently figuring the wiring harness. I’d like to remove as many unneeded wires and connectors as possible. I took the time to identify all the wires coming out of the ECU. The ECU and harness is from a 1991 LS400 USDM factory equipped with TRAC system. I still have the...
