The engine number is behind/below the thermostat housing. You'll need to remove the plastic section that houses the sparkplug wires to see it more clearly.

The vent valve hose doesn't connect to anything at the other end, it's just clipped to the tank and runs around to the other side and vents to atmophere.
Yes.
Some brown wires can be grounds also.
All black/yellow wires need constant 12v.
All black/orange and black/red wires need ignition 12v.
Depending on the year of manufacture, thick white and black/blue wires coming from the ECU need ignition 12v.
Have you tried here........?

True it can do that, but in this case it doesn't.
It's fitted in the optimum position to allow the incoming airflow to go directly down the back of the engine. it also has a small deflector fitted underneath to ensure this. The transmission temps are cooler as a result (when on the move) and...
Think about how to get the heat out of the engine compartment aswell.
I fit vents in the bonnet and remove the rubber 'skirts' from under the wheel arches to let the heat out.
A 16" electric, curved blade fan either as a pusher or puller works well too.
None of my conversions have had cooling...
Could be the Park/Neutral Position switch (NSW on non VVTi engines) isn't sending a 12v signal to the ECU?
No Park/Neutral signal and the engine won't crank over.
Check your wiring for the speed sensor on the right in this photo, it controls the gear shifts.
Also, make sure the transmission cable is not too tight.
Nearly all of my conversions have had the A342LE transmissions, all pulled from LS400s (1990-1997)
The A342LE is probably specific to the U.K. market, different gearing?
Could be a problem with the M-REL wire.
Your ECU wiring is near enough the same as the '96 LS400.

Can you keep the engine running if you press the throttle pedal after it fires up?
I wire the fuel pumps using a five pin 30a relay:
Pin...
