Bushwaker you are spot on I loosened it completely off and it's perfect, I had tried loosening it but one more turn made the different, thanks guys

Ok I hooked up the kickdown switch and noticed changes through shifts in the D position, but 1st is still a problem, I can get it to go into 1st but at unpredictable times once I've put the shifter into 1st position, but my main problem is as soon ad I stomp on the accelerator is shifts straight...

Was the first bit scarcasm? You said in one of your other replys the kickdown switch did fark all. B&m is set up spot on and valve bodys great, just had this problem since day dot cheers.

Hey guys I've got a 1uz and 4spd auto from a sc400 in my hilux with a b&m shifter and stage 2 valvebody. Problem is 1st gear, it won't select it through the shifter properly it will kick in at different times and just back it down from 2nd at random times. Also won't kickdown in normal...

Where you at mate I'm in Hobart too, just put 1uz in a lux, you need front sump and notch itvto clear the steering. What hilux was it,

yes but say 22r oil pressure 40psi max, 1uz 80psi = gauge reading wrong as pressure is different on the sender, that's my understanding anyway

I didn't assume max oil pressure was at 3000rpm I gave it some squirts up quite high and no change, and I don't agree with you on " if oil sender from lux is in the 1uz gauge will read right" as I'm sure both the motors have different oil psi, oil weights etc. I was just wondering if anyone...
